I am Ironman… I wish! My name is Robert Gao, and I am something even better than a multi-billionaire superhero: I am a part of the Nemesis Build Team as Lead Designer! I am currently a senior at Robbinsville High School, and this is my fourth (and unfortunately final) year on the team. Being a member of the build team means so much to me, as it provides me with the opportunity to engage in activities that I love, with people whom I value. It allows me to challenge myself and push past my boundaries, applying learned concepts to real world challenges, and, ultimately, it provides me with a chance to learn.

Besides Nemesis, I also participate in a wide range of activities. I compete regionally with the high school Math League, test my entrepreneurial skills in FBLA, and exercise the art of persuasion in Model UN. I lead club competitions as President in Math League, plan engaging math opportunities as Vice President in Math Honors Society, and plan ambitious field trips as Vice President in Model UN. Aside from school activities, I like to run and bike as well as read and paint in my spare time.

I love the feeling of solving problems and succeeding through difficulty, and I cannot wait to triumph in this year’s FRC challenge. Here’s to hoping for a great season!
