Hi, my name is Sofia Papa, I am a senior on the Build Team and have been on the team for 4 years now. Typically, you can find me in the back room of the tech lab working with the CNC mill. Being able to see each part of the robot start as a simple metal part, and turn into a moving, complex machine is my favorite part of being on the build team.
I was introduced to robotics by my brother, who was on Nemesis all four years of high school, and I attended almost all of the competitions. Seeing how complex the robots were and the engaging atmosphere of the team inspired me to join. Additionally, I have participated in every Discovery Day and Engineering Day that Nemesis sponsored since second grade. Ever since then, I anticipated the day when I was finally able to join Nemesis. I now enjoy being able to be on the other side of these activities, encouraging kids to engage in robotics and inspiring that same anticipation I felt at their age.
When I’m not scouring over school work, you can find me playing on the travel softball team, Jersey Outlaws Showcase 18U, as well as the softball team for Robbinsville High School. Overall, I am eager to see what this year’s game challenge will bring.
